MANDY PATINKIN

From Broadway’s Evita and Sunday in the Park with George, to movies The Princess Bride and Yentl and TV roles on “Chicago Hope” and “Homeland,” Emmy and Tony Award winner Mandy Patinkin has been fortunate to carve out a varied career including theater, the concert stage, film, television, and as a recording artist. 

As diverse as his professional life has been, Mandy’s education in the field of social activism has been even more varied and continues to evolve. He has raised funds for organizations dear to his heart including Brady Campaign, Doctors Without Borders, Association to Benefit Children, American Jewish World Service, Search for Common Ground, National Dance Institute, and ACLU.  Mandy is a board member of the Arava Institute and continues to work with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), highlighting the plight of refugees worldwide.

Pharaoh's Daughter

Pharaoh's Daughter is a seven-piece world music ensemble that travels effortlessly through continents, key signatures, and languages with a genre-bending swirling neo-Hasidic chanting sound. Basya Schechter’s earthy, soulful, beautiful voice rings out over instruments that form a vibrant collage of East/West, old/ new, Ashkenazi and Sephardic enlivened by flutes, electronica, and strings.  The band loves breaking boundaries and fusing heritage with world expansiveness.

2. Have the camera capture you from the chest up, alone or with your family.

3. Record yourself/your family/your kids saying the following words:

- Community
- Connection

Say each word once, with a 2 second pause in between each word.

4. Email your video, in either .mp4 or .mov format to membership@romemu.org by Friday May 7.
